THE MAYFAIR CINEMA
The new future of cinema at Curzon Street
London's iconic cinema on Curzon Street is set to be restored to its former glory by the team behind The Ned London and Koko Camden. With a £15m investment, the Mayfair Cinema will become a hub for the community, with affordable ticket prices and dining options, independent and local films, and educational events. The restoration will introduce revolutionary technology, design, and gastronomy while maintaining the cinema's original features and façade. Spread across three floors, the cinema will feature an in-house restaurant, a fully-stocked bar, and table service. The cinema will operate sustainably, championing British produce and minimising waste.
Retaining a second screen aligns with our holistic approach to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience, further solidifying our commitment to meeting the expectations of our diverse audience while upholding the highest quality standards. This will provide patrons and moviegoers with increased choice not just in films to watch but the environment to watch them in as each auditorium will have its own individual design, programming, food offering and technological viewing experience.
With the aim to create an unforgettable cinematic experience, a planning application to restore the Mayfair Cinema to its former glory has now been submitted to Westminster City Council.

Goal
Preserve and revitalize the Mayfair Cinema, a historically significant and well-preserved post-war building, by creating a unique venue that combines modern technology and design with the character and tradition of the original architecture. We plan to restore the atmospheric second-screen auditorium to its former grandeur, offering the latest cinema technology, a full-service bar and restaurant, and a range of food and beverages to be enjoyed on the screen or at the bar.
With a focus on film and hospitality, the new Mayfair Cinema will be an exceptional and flexible venue that appeals to a wide range of audiences, offering a premium experience at affordable prices. Our vision is to make the Mayfair Cinema a sought-after landmark in London, attracting film buffs, tourists, and cultural events of the highest calibre.
The vision for The Mayfair Cinema combines the best of technology with the best of hospitality in an extremely flexible configuration that will allow it to deliver an exceptional breadth of content and events as the cinema landscape evolves. The choice of luxury seating types will allow customers to choose the experience they want at a range of ticket prices. Accessibility will be vastly improved with step-free access and other facilities, so less able customers can take full advantage of the experience on offer. The venue will, once again, become a real landmark in London, sought out by film buffs and tourists alike, whilst having the flexibility, remit, and sound commercial footing to offer an increased breadth of content to local residents, keeping them visiting regularly.
Past Work
We are passionate about history, architecture, curation, restoration and preservation. Every building has a story to be told through sympathetic design and operation to highlight, not hide their past. Our track record shows our determination to be leaders in this field and speaks for itself. ESG is at the heart of all our developments and operation, from sustainable building material to rigorous accessibility and inclusion.
Our transformation of the former, Grade I listed Midland Bank headquarters, designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens, into the iconic luxury hotel, ‘The Ned’, which boasts nine restaurants, six function rooms, two swimming pools and other amenities, was all achieved whilst protecting and highlighting the building’s historic integrity and story.
Our work at Koko Club, a Grade II listed former BBC recording studios, saw a similarly delicate architectural amalgamation and carefully considered design of the live music theatre, the old Piano factory and Hope & Anchor public house, into a refurbished state of the art live music venue, featuring 3 restaurants, a recording studio, a piano bar a jazz bar, a Dome Cocktail Bar and vinyl rooms. The Koko development has not only protected but has enhanced the cultural impact the venue has on the surrounding area, promoting diversity and supporting local artists.
Our restoration of the ruins of a 19th century farmstead into The Ardross Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, further demonstrates our commitment to integrity, tradition and investment in people and community. This is demonstrated from development to production, from using reclaimed stone in the restoration to selecting only Scottish grown barley in the production of Ardross Whisky.
Investment
We estimate the plan to breathe new life back into the Mayfair Cinema will require a budget of £15
million. It will create employment opportunities, both at the venue and in the wider arts and entertainment industry. It is expected to employ ten times more staff than currently and offer apprenticeships to support emerging talent. As a cultural hub in London, it will support and nurture the entertainment industry and play a leading role in international events. The refurbishment will contribute to the survival and success of the area.
Spread across three floors, including an in-house restaurant. fully stocked bar and auditorium table service in a nod to the luxury experience of retro cinema, the Mayfair Cinema plans to be a low waste operation. From the suppliers utilised, to the way the dishes are washed, British produce will be championed, small-scale local farmers favoured, and sustainably produced ingredients featured throughout the menus.
